Why anti aging nutrition matters

Energy, vitality and zest for life come from within – from a body and brain supplied with the essential nutrients needed for optimum performance.

Good anti aging nutrition is also vital for younger looking skin.    Eating the right things has a huge impact on the way your skin looks and how well it copes with the passing of time.

Anti aging nutrition is about good food eaten with enjoyment. Enjoying what you eat is such an important part of eating healthily.

I don’t believe in eating something just because its the latest anti aging super food.  If you don’t enjoy eating it then you would be better off taking a supplement to boost your antioxidant, vitamin or mineral levels.

And don’t forget – as both smoking and alcohol speed up skin aging – if you do either you’ll need even higher levels of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to counteract the effects.

On the other hand – there are things that matter if you care about how good your skin looks as you age.

Skin aging will be so much worse with poor nutrition and anti aging health depends on an antioxidant rich diet low in trans fats and high in colorful fruit and vegetables.

A high sugar diet will harm your skin and cause deeper lines and wrinkles – it won’t do much for your figure either!  If you want to control sugar you need to know about the  glycemic index and how it applies to the foods you eat on a daily basis.  As someone with a taste for chocolate brownies and almond danish pastries this is something I fight with all the time.

Of course – you can’t do it all.  No one can.  You just need to get a “good enough” level of anti aging nutrition and don’t feel guilty if you fall off the wagon now and then.  Some days will be more nutritionally challenged than others – as long as you’re heading in the right direction that’s what matters.

But don’t put it off – if you need to improve your diet – start now.  Put the best food choices up there on your weekly shopping list – very soon you’ll find you enjoy what you eat, feel fantastic and look younger too.
